The 19th Annual Conference of the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) will be held from September 19-21, 2002 in Athens. It is organized by the University of Athens under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

The scientific committee has selected 60 high-quality papers in the larger area of economic analysis of law.

This year's distinguished guest lecturer is Judge Richard A. Posner, the intellectual father of economic analysis of law. Judge Posner will be awarded honorary doctorate degrees by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on September 17 and by the University of Athens on September 18.
