VenueThe conference will take place at the historical central building of the University of Athens, situated in downtown Athens on Panepistimiou (i.e. “University”) Avenue. This building was designed in a simple neoclassical style by the Danish architect Christian Hansen. Its first wing was built in 1841 to house the University of Athens which was founded in 1837. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens was the first University to be established in the newly-formed Greek State, but also in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean. Today, most faculty buildings of the University lie in the University Campus at Ano Ilisia. The old central building on Panepistimiou Avenue accommodates the Rector’s offices and other administrative departments of the University.
